Dear doctors of the Andrology and Infertility Hospital of Hanoi. I am 27 years old and have been wanting to have a baby for more than 2 years now. I had a test at a clinic near my house and my AMH result is: 0.9. I want to ask if low AMH can do IVF? I hope the doctors will reply.
Hello, AMH stands for Anti-Mullerian Hormone, the name of a hormone produced by the granulosa cells located in the pre-ovulatory follicles and the follicular follicles in the ovary. This is the basic index to evaluate the ovarian reserve index. In fact, with your current AMH reading being quite low compared to the average AMH of a healthy woman under the age of 38 would range from 2.2 to 6.8 ng/ml and well below the low AMH level from 1.0-1.5 ng/ml. However, it is still above the very low level (below 0.5 ng/ml). But the AMH is only used to assess your ovarian reserve, not the quality of your eggs. Therefore, you should go to the hospital for examination to perform additional tests and other necessary checks so that the specialist doctors can advise you.
