On May 6, 2026, the Andrology and Fertility Hospital of Hanoi, in collaboration with Merck Healthcare Vietnam, organized a professional exchange program on assisted reproduction with the participation of Associate Professor Marcos Meseguer, PhD, one of Europe’s leading embryology experts and currently Associate Professor of the Master’s Program in Biotechnology at the University of Valencia, Spain.

With more than 20 years of experience in embryology, male infertility and the application of technology in assisted reproduction, Prof. Marcos Meseguer is recognized as one of the leading contributors to modern reproductive medicine. He has published more than 145 scientific papers, delivered over 500 presentations at national and international conferences and is the editor of “Time-Lapse Microscopy in In-Vitro Fertilization”, one of the earliest specialized publications on the application of Time-Lapse microscopy in IVF.
In IVF treatment, every oocyte and every embryo represents a precious opportunity. Therefore, the question of how to improve oocyte and embryo quality has always been one of the most important concerns in assisted reproduction practice.
At AF HANOI, Prof. Marcos Meseguer presented the topic “The Role of rhFSH:rhLH in Oocyte and Embryo Quality”, focusing on the relationship between ovarian stimulation protocols, the hormonal environment, oocyte quality and embryo development during IVF cycles.
From the perspective of modern embryology, the session highlighted that embryo quality is not determined solely in the laboratory. An embryo with strong developmental potential also depends on oocyte quality, ovarian response, treatment protocols and close collaboration between clinicians and embryologists.

Many practical aspects of IVF treatment were discussed during the program, including:
In addition to the scientific presentation, the program also served as a direct discussion forum between the international expert and the hospital’s doctors and embryologists. Discussions focused on issues closely related to clinical practice such as oocyte quality assessment, embryo culture, the application of Time-Lapse technology, embryo selection and individualized treatment strategies for each patient.

With a well-invested laboratory system, standardized professional procedures and a continuous commitment to advancing reproductive medicine, AF HANOI remains dedicated to improving infertility treatment quality. Every professional discussion, scientific update and practical improvement is aimed at one meaningful goal: giving families on the journey to parenthood more opportunities, greater confidence and renewed hope.
